The preparations, while the house is still quiet and the dress waits on its hanger. The ceremony, in a church, a town hall or beneath the trees. The couple portraits, at the hour when the light turns soft. The drinks, the dinner, the speeches, the first dance.
I photograph all of it on my own, staying discreet, never asking for a scene to be replayed. That is what gives images you still recognise yourselves in years later, rather than photographs of people posing.
